DTF stands for Direct to Film. It's a printing process where your design is printed onto a special film using high-quality inks, then a heat-activated adhesive powder is applied. You transfer the design to fabric using a heat press — the result is a vibrant, flexible print that bonds strongly to virtually any material including cotton, polyester, nylon, and blends.

There are no minimums at Raleigh Transfers. You can order a single 2"×2" transfer or a 22"×30-foot gang sheet with hundreds of designs. Whether you need 1 or 100,000, we've got you covered — with no setup fees either.

Any heat press works great — we recommend a clamshell or swing-away press set to 285–305°F for 10–15 seconds with medium pressure. In a pinch, a home iron can work too. Set it to the cotton/high setting, press firmly for 15–20 seconds, and avoid steam. A heat press will always give the most consistent results.

We offer transfers from as small as 2"×2" all the way up to 22" wide by 30 feet long. Custom gang sheets let you mix and match multiple designs on a single sheet to maximize your square footage and get the best value per print.

Our transfers are rated for 100+ washes when applied correctly. For best results: wash inside out in cold water, tumble dry on low heat, and avoid bleach or fabric softener. Do not iron directly on the printed area. With proper care, your transfers will stay vibrant through countless wash cycles.

Orders placed before 12:00 PM EST are printed and shipped the same business day. Orders placed after the cutoff ship the next business day. We offer free local pickup at 31 Davella Dr, Unit 9, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526 for even faster turnaround.

Vector files are preferred: Adobe Illustrator (.AI), EPS, or PDF with embedded fonts and outlined text. For raster files (.PNG, .JPG), please submit at a minimum of 300 DPI at the actual print size. PNG files with a transparent background are ideal for complex designs. We'll let you know if we see any issues with your artwork before printing.
